Provides members with a way to post resumes and Corporate Sponsors with a way to post jobs and query the resume database. The Career Center is open to ALL FINANCIALLY COMPLIANT BDPA MEMBERS. This is a free service and of membership in BDPA.

Corporate Sponsors not only offer financial support but also participate in programs developed to enhance the technical and professional skills of the community. The investment in BDPA creates positive exposure to technically diverse membership of African-American Information Technology professionals and students. The program is designed to offer corporations an opportunity to partner with BDPA to meet corporate goals and objectives for recruiting, employee development,philanthropic endeavors and enhanced image in the African American Community. The program is open to all corporations with a sincere interest in the vision, mission, objectives and goals of BDPA.

A strategic alliance was formed to provide a portal to assist BDPA members to gain access to Avue’s customer base of over 25 Federal departments and agencies. With an unsurpassed network of qualified IT professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs, it is only fitting that we join forces with Avue Technologies, a firm that is highly regarded for its aggressive innovation and advocacy of behalf of its federal government clients seeking the broadest possible outreach to promote diversity in hiring. Through this new partnership, our membership will gain direct access to Avue’s customer base of over 25 Federal departments and agencies representing an estimated 2003 workforce of over 1,682,985 employees. Through the BDPA employment site portal our members are able to access and apply for Federal job opportunities and receive notification of opportunities of interest. For agencies that are clients of Avue Digital Services™, members are able to expedite their application directly to these agencies and monitor progress through the selection process on a 365/24/7 basis. For agencies that are not yet Avue clients, applicants are able to automatically generate and print a hard copy resume from a "base profile" maintained on line. In addition, the site provides our members with a wide range of expert information with respect to the entire spectrum of employee relations, EEO, Civil Rights, and other workforce management issues.

Career Coaches
BDPA Career Coaches offer a mix of free and discounted services to help BDPA members in career transition. They are available to work with individuals who are seeking employment, seeking a new career path, navigating a new position or starting a new business. All of our career coaches are experienced in the field. In addition, many have project management, relationship management, and leadership experience. Our coaches are all members of the International Coach Federation, the Society for Human Resource Management, or a similar body and adhere to that organization's code of ethics. Finally, all of our coaches are BDPA members.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM OUR BDPA CAREERCOACHES?

Complimentary Coaching Session - during this free session, the coach will explain the coaching service, talk with you about your career goals, and discuss your options.

A complimentary "Ask a Coach" forum will be provided on the JobSeekers LISTSERV where you can ask a coach any question that will assist you in your job search, interviewing and more. You can expect to receive an answer from any of the coaches that are a subject matter expert on the designated topic.

Career Development Teleclasses and Seminars

Personalized Career Coaching Services - all of the coaches are independent practitioners, with their own coaching programs and fees. Services include resume critique, interview preparation and support, skills assessment, career planning, and more. All of the BDPA coaches have agreed to extend a 20% discount to individuals contacting them through BDPA.
